Misguided sign

“More pollution? No solution” sign appeared on the street

What sort of thoughtless person parks like this? How is someone in a wheelchair supposed to get past this?

  • Icon 156558 It would help if this path down from Longrigg Road had streetlights. Plus the nearby National Cycle Network route 14, running near the south side of the Tyne, is very dark in this area, even where it runs fairly close to parallel busy roads, such as near Metro Centre. There’s a few other paths and cycle routes in the area that could be lit. It’s probably going to help pedestrians even more, as at least most cyclists have lights whereas people out walking often don’t.
  • Icon 156541 The path on the BP garage side of the road is ridiculously narrow!! No way of social distancing without someone walking on the road. Casterton School route too which is a danger to the users
  • Icon 156540 This alleyway is used by lone Casterton School pupils to walk to and from school. There’s inadequate lighting and the hedge is too high. Needs reducing so that users can be seen from the road to flag help should they need it. Fondly known as poo alley to the estates residents, it’s so overgrown and dark! Perhaps tidying/reducing hedge height might reduce dog walkers leaving their mess behind!!
  • Icon 156539 Lighting! There is none! Families walking from school in the dark winter afternoons are at risk from dodging the dog poo! Also very overgrown. If the bushes were trimmed right back the footpath would become wider for use by both cyclists and pedestrians. This would also help with social distancing!
  • Icon 156538 This lane is used as the primary footpath to Malcom Sargent school and is a weight restricted road of 7.5t. Vehicles well over this weight NOT DELIVERING IN STAMFORD use it as a rat run between the A1/Oakham/Bourne/Essendine hazardous waste centre. More signage is required/cameras/speed humps/chicane to deter this! Pathways are very narrow and unprotected (no barriers) from possible mounting by these huge HGVs! Pedestrian crossing is regularly ignored by motorists, so families are dicing with danger trying to cross Sydney Farm Lane. PLEASE improve this area, the footpath and road are the ONLY exits from the estate, yet we are always ignored when we ask for help with the issues! We need barriers against the footpaths to protect walkers/cyclists, wider Sidney Farm Lane footpath, better warning signs for the pedestrian crossing with a camera, signs to deter HGVs, lighting on the slip road (there is currently none!), speed bumps/chicane/better signage at each end of the lane.
